Coleg Sir Gar (A) - College League

The opening College League game for Newport High School was a live tv game against the reigning champions. A rocky first half performance saw us concede three early tries. A late rally in the first half and an excellent display display in the second half showed what potential the team has going forward. The final score was 24 - 7 to the hosts.
Crosskeys College (A) - South East Wales League

The game showcased Newport High School attacking and defencive capabilities where they beat their local rivals 47 - 7. The game was full of passion and both sides played some great rugby.
Glantaff (H) - College League

IThe game proved to be one full of mistakes for Newport while Glantaff executed territorial awareness and dominated possession. The score was 0 - 28 to Glantaf who thoroughly deserved their win.

Glantaff (H) - South East Wales League

This was a second fixture in one day and Newport seemed to have adjusted to the elements better than Glantaff. The attacking display and sublime handling proved pivotal in a 45 - 0 win against Glantaff.

Cardiff & The Vale (H) - College League

The visitors started the stronger and raced to a 14-0 lead before Newport High's Driving lineout brought a score for Joel Gilbert. Unfortunately despite another 2 tries Newport High lost out 43-19 to a strong Cardiff & the Vale side

Cardiff & the Vale (H) - South East Wales League

Another game that got away. Cardiff & The Vale once again started stronger and raced into a 29-5 lead. Newport High showed great character to come back and almost nick it at the end, going down 29-27.

Gower College (A) - Colleges League

In wild, wet and windy  conditions on the Gower peninsular Newport High raced into a 24-0 lead after 20 minutes with 2 tries a piece for Daffydd Buckland and Brodie Coghlan. After the break Gower used the conditions to close the gap to 27-22 with 2 minutes to go before Morgan Richards snuck over in the corner to give Newport High a bonus point 32-22 victory

Llandovery (H) - Colleges League

It was the first game to be played in relatively pleasant conditions. Having lost the two previous home games this was a 'must win' game for Newport High. The game had 8 tries scored in it. 4 tries by Llandovery and 4 tries by Newport High. Tries were scored by Brodie Coghlan, Luke Yendle, Ieuan Smith and Jack Littlejohns. The difference between the two sides were the kicks taken by Outside Half Will Reed. His three conversions and a penalty proved to be the difference that meant Newport High won 29 - 24 in a very tough, open paced game.

Neath (H) - Colleges League

It was the first time Newport High Junior Academy would play at Pontypool Park as a home venue for our live S4C game against Neath. A privilege for the players to play in a ground that is famous for its history in Welsh Rugby.

Neath proved too strong for us on the day and won 10 - 31.
